Norms and ground rules

Together, we proposed norms and ground rules to guide our interactions, which we collated into the following shared commitments.
- Be respectful and encouraging of each other, including of diverse knowledge, learning styles, experience, background, perspectives and opinions
- Create an environment that facilitates learning for everyone; for example,
- Nothing is “obvious”; all questions are welcome
- Arrive ready to focus and engage
- Share the learning space; step up and step back
- Demonstrate humility and respect for learners, for example,
- by checking in with the room, and adjusting speed and goals for the sessions
- by being available and approachable, and also giving people space to work through their own challenges
- by elevating and supporting, and avoiding diminishing/dismissing ("it's easy", "just do this")
- by offering multiple pathways to learning
