our corporate policies do not allow the executables to be run from withing the install-path of the emulator at ...\AppData\Local\Programs\@bfemulatormain

grafik

However, there is currently no option to change the installation path in the installer.

This is actually something that has been proposed before, and I believe could be done using one of the electron-builder build flags.

I actually have a branch with this enabled, and it seems to work, we would just need to get some custom images for the installer (@DesignPolice ).

See #1259

We will consider this, and potentially add it to the planned work for the 4.7 release once we finish the planning phase.

Until then I found the following workaround:

  • install
  • copy the install folder to C:\ Program files x86
  • uninstall
  • run the copy

Reopening to track. As this issue still hasn't been fixed.

This is in progress. I've sent @DesignPolice the requirements for the installer graphics, and he is working on them.

Once the graphics are done it will be a very easy change to implement.

Thanks @tonyanziano

A few loading graphics to try out. See how they look.
