Custom FancyZones extend behind taskbar on startup #11318
Comments
This might've just been fixed by updating to Windows 10.0.19042 Build 19042. Will update if it affects me again on a full shutdown and startup tomorrow morning |
I have just rebooted this morning after having installed windows build 19042 and experienced the same issue. Simply opening the fancy zones editor was enough to resolve the problem for me. |
Is this a regression of #4694? For the second monitor, opening the editor does not solve the issue. The zone editor highlights the zones correctly: |
It's still happening to me after updating to Windows build 19042, and can confirm that just opening the Zone Editor fixes the issue, at least across my three screens. @koppor I wonder if your issue is exacerbated because of having the taskbar to the side? maybe the zone editor workaround only fixes the zone vertically rather than horizontally. |
@MrScottyTay - it could be because the taskbar is on the left. If it is on the right, opening the Zone Editor fixed the issue. |
I'm having this issue with the taskbar locked to the left-hand side of the screen. Opening the editor does not solve the issue. Unlocking and moving the taskbar to the bottom, then back to the left again does fix the issue for me. This happened after installing Windows 10 update KB5003173 (OS Builds 19041.985, 19042.985, and 19043.985) |
Hi there, Nothing helps: Downgrading PowerToys, restarting PowerToys... Uninstalling the last update is no option. |
Link to similar issue #11180 |
That similar bug is about a left side taskbar, this issue occurs for me on a normal bottom taskbar across all of my monitors. It is definitely the same issue but I'm just trying to make sure it's fixed wholesale and not just for the left side. |
Can confirm this, it happens to the taskbar no matter where it is. |
Whenever I start up my machine and snap something to a zone it always extends to the bottom of the screen behind the taskbar. The only fix I've found is to go back to the editor, and re-assign the screens to the right zones (even though they are already selected - note that I might not even have to select them and simply going into the editor alone might be the fix). This is becoming pretty annoying to do on a daily basis. The strange thing is though, this issue seems to only occur on my work PC and not the one I have at home.
The PowerToys version is 0.37.2
and the Windows version is 10.19041 Build 19041
