Microsoft PowerToys version

0.37.2

Running as admin

  • Yes

Area(s) with issue?

FancyZones

Steps to reproduce

I created two layouts with FancyZones Editor.

  1. Distributed Zones across first and second monitors.
  2. Zones only on my second monitor.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Apps pinned to zones should work in both the above configurations.

❌ Actual Behavior

The Layouts I created are not being honored by FancyZones. It always fallsback to "Priority Grid" Layout

Other Software

No response

layout1

Is the snapshot of the layout I created across multiple monitors. After saving the layout, if I open FancyZones again I see the following error:
toys_error

Click OK

toys_error2

And finally FancyZones opens up with PowerGrid as the chosen layout:

toys_powergrid

@enricogior They have "Allow zones to span across monitors" enabled. I can do this style without an issue.

Interesting the data shows a negative number.

@praveen-pk priority grid is the default layout type.

@praveen-pk can you do a "Report bug" via system tray and upload your zip?

Right click on the PowerToy system tray icon, go to "Report bug". It will generate a zip file on your desktop.
