Hey there!

We'd like to get your feedback on re-implementing the Hotkey feature back into FancyZones. Please fill out this 3-mins feedback form if you'd like to help make an impact.

Summary of the new feature/enhancement

Changing between layouts on a screen takes a long time through the editor (1-5 secs). Being able to assign Hotkeys to layouts to quickly swap between layouts without going through the editor would minimize this delay.

User scenarios

1. Changing the size of priority grid quickly
2. Quickly changing layouts from 1 zone -> 2 zone -> 3 zone -> 4 zone layouts (premade) as user launches more applications. (vice-versa)
3. Remoting into their work from home (different configurations)
4. Docking/undocking, changing physical workspaces

Proposed technical implementation details

Option 1

Setup

• Assign hotkeys for single custom layouts when creating or editing them

Usage

• Gain focus of a display (through window or mouse hover)
• Quickly change layouts on any display by pressing the assigned hotkey

Option 2

Setup

• Save layouts across multiple monitors as a preset
• Assign a hotkey to the preset

Usage

• Quickly apply the preset layouts by pressing the assigned hotkey

Both options could eventually exist. We're only asking which one is a higher priority for you currently.
