t5317-midx.sh: use modern test patterns

Originally, t5317-midx.sh was based on t5302-pack-index.sh, which
is a very old test script and does not use the modern styles or
checks.

Fix t5317-midx.sh to use these patterns and also fix the test under
OSX.
