I made a simple print("hello world") and clicking run doesn't do anything, no error or anything, it's like the button doesn't exist, I opened another python file that for sure worked a couple a weeks ago and they no longer run, I've reinstalled vs code, went to an older version, updated everything, and restarted my pc, nothing fixed it, but I can still run the python file using cmd, so this is not an issue with the code itself. |

I fixed it, I had to completely reinstall vs code, not just by using the uninstaller provided. |
