mikeogezi/README.md
  • Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹, I'm Mike.
  • I'm a PhD student at the University of Waterloo doing research in MLLMs, focusing on grounding and multimodality with Freda Shi.
  • Previously, I worked at Hover where we built LLMs as an interface layer upon OSes.
  • I was a Master's student at the University of Alberta doing AI research โˆˆ (Natural Language Processing โˆฉ Computer Vision) with Greg Kondrak.
  • I worked on grounding language within the visual world with neural models that generate meaningful & useful concept representations from images and text. Future-wise, I look to build systems that holistically understand the world and lead to transformative AI.
  • I'm also interested in Quantum Computing โš›๏ธ and Astronomy ๐ŸŒŒ.
  • I was previously a Software Engineer at Helicarrier, where I did some especially cool work, and Moniepoint.
