Please feel free to use data from Splatoon2.ink in your own sites/bots/apps/etc! I don't block people from accessing the site's data except in cases of abuse, excessive requests, etc. (although the site is run through CloudFlare which may apply its own filtering).
If you would like to use the site's data on your own site, Discord/IRC bot, app, etc.:
- Credit - If your site, bot, or app is public-facing (i.e., if people other than you can view it), please consider providing a link back to Splatoon2.ink crediting it as your data source.
- Access Frequency - Data on the site is updated once per hour, and maps rotate once every 2 hours, so there isn't much reason to refresh data more frequently than that. Caching is encouraged.
-
User Agent - Please consider setting a
User-Agent
header for your requests that contains the name of your bot and where I can reach you. This helps in case your bot starts doing something bad like making too many requests since I can contact you before blocking its IP. Set the header to something likeyourbotname/1.0 (+http://example.com)
or include Discord contact info, etc. - Hotlinking - If you're using the data on an extremely busy site, please avoid hotlinking images and data if possible. (This is kind of subjective, lower-traffic sites are fine.)
-
Free of Charge - Your app or service must be provided free of charge (i.e., please do not use data from Splatoon2.ink in paid apps).
- Ads - While the use of Splatoon2.ink data within apps/websites/bots/etc. that have ads is not explicitly banned at this time, I would strongly recommend against using ads to avoid unwanted negative attention from Nintendo. You're unlikely to make much money from ads for such a niche product anyway, so they're most likely not worth the detriment to your app's user experience.
- Donations - If you request donations from your users, they must be optional. All features of your app/website/bot/etc. that use data from Splatoon2.ink must be made available freely (i.e., you can't require users to donate to unlock functionality that is powered by Splatoon2.ink).
These terms may change at any time. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Note: These URLs may change at any time. I suggest using GitHub's "Watch" feature if you'd like to be notified when the site changes.
