Digital Craftsman (Developer/Music-Producer/Creator)
I am a software developer based in Melbourne with a background in both carpentry and the music industry. I have a passion for leveraging my skills in programming to solve real-world problems that empower others and improve their quality of life.
Throughout my experience as a developer and finishing carpenter, I have demonstrated a methodical, result-driven, and consistent approach to projects. I pride myself on my reliability, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work. I am a highly focused and persistent individual who is not easily overcome by adversity. My ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, is a particular strength.
I have transitioned into software development because I am a deeply curious individual who enjoys learning new things every day. I love building and creating bespoke solutions from the ground up and am looking forward to doing this with my brain, not just my back.
My interest in web development began at the age of 10 when I read my first book on CSS at the local library. I went on to secure my first paid job as a junior technician, working at a small town computer shop fixing all manner of hardware & software problems. I recall thinking at the time how much better it was to deal with hardware than software, which is probably why I spent the next 10 years working in more 'hands-on' environments.
Fast forward to the first COVID lockdown and I found myself down a DIY rabbit hole building a headless home server. While spending so much time in the terminal I was reminded of just how great it is to solve problems with code. Consequently, I began brushing up on JavaScript and after completing The Odin Project I enrolled in GA's boot camp where I gained valuable real-life experience in React, Node, Express & PostgreSQL to name a few.
