The Rust PoC requires IP's for router_hostname and the hostname. It should be ok with actual hostnames as well. This would likely be easier to implement in Python to resolve them before starting.

Looks like http://murarth.github.io/resolve/resolve/resolver/fn.resolve_host.html might also help.
