DNDS Wiki !

What is DNDS (Dynamic Network Directory Service) ?

DNDS is a Dynamic VPN solution that allow you to securely access and manage computers/devices via Internet.

How DNDS works ?

Each computers/devices connect to a central point called DND (Dynamic Network Daemon) via a Layer2 SSL tunnel.
When data is transfered between DNC (Dynamic Network Client), a direct connection is established between
the peers (peer-to-peer). Using hole-punching techniques and DND as a fallback relay, every
computers/devices can easily communicate to each other without bothering with NATs and firewalls.
Every computers/devices receive an IP address from a subnet that is configurable as needed, this way
the peers see each other as part of the same LAN (Local Area Network). In other word, they appear
to be in the same broadcast domain.

What is the state of DNDS ?

DND (Dynamic Network Daemon) is mature enough to accept connections from multiple
DNC (Dynamic Network Client). DND authenticates and provides IP so the peers can send encrypted data
to one another using DND as a relay. All this have to be setup manually though.
