Stellar-MADE Project

Exploring the effects of Stellar Multiplicity on planet formation Across Disc Evolution.
ERC Starting Grant: October 2022 - September 2027.
Hosted at IPAG & UGA (Grenoble, France).

Project goals:

  • Establish the formation channels of protoplanetary discs around young stellar objects;
  • Follow disc dynamics and grain growth to identify the regions of planetesimal formation;
  • Characterise planetary architectures and the resulting exoplanet population.

Abstract of the project

Stellar-MADE co(s)mic strips

A series of comic strips about different aspects of the science carried out within the Stellar-MADE project. This material was done by Nicolás Cuello & Antoine Alaguero in collaboration with the Ink Link and Séverine Alvain (during 2023 and released in 2024). Please get in touch with us if you would like to use it for outreach activities.

  • Episode 1: daily life of an astrophysicist, models & astronomical observations.
  • Episode 2: disc dynamics and planet formation in multiple stellar systems.
  • Episode 3: distances & detection of exoplanets in multiple stellar systems.
  • Episode 4: alien life, planetary orbits & chaos in multiple stellar systems.
