Changing the bibliography style

Hello
I am wanting to change the bibliographic/reference list style to something else. Looking online I should be able to do it via this line and change the 'plain' to something else:
\bibliographystyle{plain}
but I cant find that code anywhere. Can anyone tell me what file to look in? I have used Find but it doesnt seem to be there. To be clear, I am happy with the in-text citation style - just want to change the end reference list style.

I have solved this :)

Ok so if you want a different style you can change it in the main _quarto.yml file. I wanted to change it to a particular one so I added this line in the _quarto.yml file (I have included the bibliography line so you can see where I put it) and I added the .csl file of the style I wanted to use to the project directory.

bibliography: [example.bib]
csl: my_preferred_reference_style.csl
