Dual License

Surfboard is dual-licensed under commercial and open-source licenses, like MySQL and Qt.

The open-source license supports use cases such as development of new open source projects, student work, academic research, hobby projects and other cases where all GPLv3 obligations can be met.

The commercial license gives you the ability to create and distribute software on your own terms without open source license obligations, as well as giving you access to engineering support from the main authors of Surfboard and support from the Novoic speech and language research team.
