I'd like to re-open :-) I think this item and #5 can be separate. One way or the other archiving license texts would be useful.

DUPLICATE. I think this is now a duplicate of #7 (merge licenses repo here) and its associated discussion.

I'm reopening as I think #7 is distinct. Real questions is whether we want texts given other projects collecting texts such as https://spdx.org/licenses/

I don't see any evidence that anyone wants to do the work. If such a person exists they should probably be encouraged to help with the SPDX texts collection.
