VSCode defines a configuration per-language for indentation, described here:
https://code.visualstudio.com/api/language-extensions/language-configuration-guide#indentation-rules
This creates the ability for us to specify a hook to override default indentation behavior, such that we can leverage the language configuration regex and get parity with VSCode's indentation behavior.
