I think we should leave a comment here explaining why we had to pass cms
as the service variant here, even though the API might have been called from the LMS

Perhaps add some tests here to make sure the correct value for has_course_author_access
for full staff/limited staff roles

Adds
has_course_author_access
boolean toCourseHomeMetadataView
. Currently it's used to control visibility of the "View as Staff" button here: openedx/frontend-app-learning#1436Testing
Open any unit in
frontend-app-learning
, openNetwork
tab in your browser console, and search formeta
there. There will be a single request, and its JSON response should containhas_course_author_access
key. It should beFalse
for all users that don't have access to Studio, especially those having the "Limited Staff" course team role.
