LumenPnP

The LumenPnP v4 has been released! Any changes for the time being will be small bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

Feeders

Motherboard

We're starting to look into a new version of the feeder motherboard with a focus on efficiency and EMI/EMC. Still very early in the process, just beginning to think about what a new version would look like. @G-Pereira is looking into fixing a whine with the buck converter, general ESD protection, and EMC/EMI considerations.

Frame

A new version of the spool arm is in development that more securely holds the spools in place. There are also a handful of tweaks to the main frame print that are in progress, reducing friction in the tape path and helping with printability.

@sphawes is also testing a new version of the worm gear in the feeder that greatly reduces the likelihood of the film being caught in the peel gear frame.

Firmware

A patch to the packetization method for Photon is being tested. This patch, once merged, will vastly reduce the likelihood of a feeder dropping connection. This patch has just been successfully compiled for Marlin and Photon, and has been rolled into mainline Marlin! We're now just waiting for a new release of Marlin and we'll cut a new version of firmware and official configs.

There is also a bit of work going into improving feeds for very thick tape, as sometimes the new control methodology introduced in v1.0.3 of Photon causes a timeout for these tapes. This new method adjusts the starting power for a feed operation based on the number of attempts.
