Crossover Engine updates to address latest Battle net issues? #59
-
The WS12WineCX23.7.1_1 engine was the only way I've been able to run Diablo IV on macOS. It recently broke after a January 2025 battle net update though, and I'm not sure where to turn. It sounds like the Crossover app from Codeweavers has solved this, but before I fork over $80 to play a $40 Blizzard game I was wondering if anyone understands the connection between the commercial Crossover product and the wineskin crossover engine. I'm happy to wait a bit longer for an open source solution, but I can't seem to find anyone even mentioning it might be in the works. I assume a wineskin or kegworks maintainer needs to do something like pull the codeweavers source (which actually appears to be available) and compile specific pieces of it into an appropriate engine .bundle file, but I'm just guessing. I don't want to bother the Kegworks maintainers with a bug report if they're already on it and I just need to wait a few days/weeks. I just haven't been able to find much of anything posted online. Does anyone know if someone is already hard at work trying to port the latest crossover code into an updated wineskin engine, or I should just suck it up and pay for Crossover? I'm perfectly happy to just wait a bit if I get word a fix will be coming soon... |

Battle.net was not fully fixed in CrossOver-24.0.6 unfortunately as some users still have problems, I'd spoken to Meredith who confirmed there indeed working hard on a fix. |
