@AceTheCreator would be a great person to be involved as "beta tester" of the program as in March he will present and do a workshop about EDA and AsyncAPI on the biggest open-source conference in Africa. The best candidate for it as he is doing it purely for the community, not talking about his product and just mentioning AsyncAPI but focusing on AsyncAPI mainly ❤️ |

What a great idea, my only feedback would be to be clear on who will review applications as often people not knowing who is reviewing may be perceived things happen behind closed doors. I'd also suggest being clear on how long a member is part of the program, are they auto renewed and or you need to re apply the following year to be part of the program. Also a +1 for the program name: AsyncAPI Ambassador program and members of the program be AsyncAPI Ambassadors as ambassadors on their own could be mixed up with similar named programs that are out there and active. |

@Lczajkowski what is your experience here in regards to cadence? Do you think better to have a cadence, like 1-2 years? or rather a clear rules, like that under some specific rules you are removed from the list due to lack of activity? |

Hi, The time as ambassador is limited (1, 3, 6, 12 months...) and can be renewed. What does ambassador program membership can be renewed mean ? Is it like the Ambassador tag from Contributor will be removed and after few criteria met again (and after applying) it can be used ? It would be interesting to start, for example, looking for workshop ambassadors to spread the tools of the specification, either from a generalist perspective or from a more specific one focused on a tool. This is really interesting to focus on specific thing first than spreading out at the beginning itself. Starting with Workshop for AsyncAPI Specs tools first is great idea. Be active in your role as an ambassador. It is better to define what does mean by active as ambassador role,

Hi @iamVP7,
The idea behind this proposal is that perhaps, if the term as an ambassador is finite, people will be more committed to their work within the program. This ensures that the program has all of its ambassadors active. For example, you could offer apply to renew the candidacy on an annual basis. It is not a matter of meeting any specific requirements but of commitment to the program.
This is a topic that we should discuss and specify as well. How often should the ambassadors make contributions?
This is a good question, how about creating a template that ambassadors can fill in after each activity where data such as activity definition, place, duration time, number of participants, media impact, impact on project activity, new community members ... I also wonder if the participants of the activities could complete a specific survey to report their feedback. What do you think? |

This is great, will vouch if ambassadors can share in github issues instead of private forms which only Program managers can see. And also it will be better if ambassadors can share as blog post, like
Getting feedback report from participants is good idea, but its 50:50 for me. I have seen sometimes feedbacks are given properly but sometimes they never even click the link we share. |

Would like to share thoughts on collecting resources from contributors. For all the workshop / talks the ambassadors will be using some slides, it will be great if those are collected into single repo which can help future ambassadors / learners to see and learn |

Hi, what do you think about the minimum merits that ambassadors should have? I can think of three categories of work:
I don't think it is necessary for all ambassadors to participate in all categories, what do you think? How much activity do you think ambassadors should have in 1 year, for example, to do their job? Here is an idea of different work options per year: Option 1:

I think the easiest would be to list a number of items folks have to fulfill and then have automated calculations. Things that we can grab from different locations (asyncapi blog, slack, github) we do automatically. Extra stuff candidates provide manually, like links to articles from other domains than asyncapi.com. For starter, looking at all other comments, I think we can assume:
Quarter participation would one of the following:
The candidate can accumulate this. So if they on one event present and do workshop, then they have 2 quarters covered. |

The idea was that "register" would be the first step in order to collect the user information and "apply" the specific request for being an ambassador in the program. But seeing your question I think we can remove one of the steps and make the process easier. We could even change the name of this to "enroll" or "sign up", which probably are more suggestive as a call for engagement. What do you think? Which one sounds better? |

regarding register/apply it might make sense to have apply and enable a process that:
I for example would never apply on my own. I have personality that always tells me: " nah, there are better folks that deserve it" So you can apply for someone, and then we contact the person that was "reported" |

This is my proposal, it is just an idea to work on. What I really intend is to generate a brainstorming and a debate about it.
Proposal:
Name for the program:
“AsyncAPI Ambassador program”
“Masters on AsyncAPI”
“Embassy for APIs lovers”
What is the AsyncAPI Ambassador Program?
The AsyncAPI ambassador program aims to bring AsyncAPI closer to the users and potential users of the project. Provide users and community members with the necessary tools and resources:
To promote cooperation between users and disseminate the necessary tools to any user of the specification.
To be engaged with the project in some way, either as a contributor, blogger, speaker, etc.
To be willing to speak at community events or write technical content, such as blog posts, solving community needs....
The program aims to have at least 5 ambassadors in 2022.
The time as ambassador is limited (1, 3, 6, 12 months...) and can be renewed.
How does the program work?
The methods to spread the word and help users with AsyncAPI are very diverse: participation in forums, online groups, community events, workshops and courses, articles...
It would be interesting to start, for example, looking for workshop ambassadors to spread the tools of the specification, either from a generalist perspective or from a more specific one focused on a tool.
We are looking for places to disseminate these workshops: universities, companies and organizations using or interested in learning about AsyncAPI from anywhere in the world.
Requirements:
To be an official AsyncAPI ambassador there is no greater requirement than having the desire to work and spread the AsyncAPI tools.
Be in tune with AsyncAPI's mission and values.
Guidelines for ambassadors:
Always respect the code of conduct.
Be active in your role as an ambassador.

Receiving a special swag for Ambassadors.
Free tickets to the AsyncAPI 2022 in-person conference.
Steps for joining the program:
I think we could set up a page on the website for this, where all the information about the program is posted and where people can apply to join as an ambassador.
We could also have an agenda or planning where the events that the ambassadors will attend are shown.
