Phantom Wallet not showing Connect Popup

Summary

On pressing the connect wallet button, the phantom app is opening as it should, but the connect wallet popup is not opening. My app is in Bare React native

Above is my login component, which I am using to connect the wallet.

I tried to manually test the deep link by directly forming an HTML tag as follows
<a href="quack://onPhantomConnected">test</>

and it worked, so the issue should not be with the deep linking imp.

I'm not terribly familiar with the rn linking library. Does your deeplink url resolve to the same format as the example here?:
