In the web app report, I would like to see the number of unique packages causing violations. With this information, one could more easily see, how many libs are problematic and what the actual numbers of packages is I have to take a look/create curations for.
In the example below, I have 10 Violations, but only 6 packages that are causing these.

@KorSin are you indeed still planning to work on this? If not, please unassign yourself.

So @tsteenbe, as discussed in today's developer meeting, would you have an idea how to visualize this "per package grouping" of violations, and would you have the time to work on it?

I understood this ticket that the request was to show the unique number of violations so change (0/10) to (0/6) not to merge violation for the same package. @hanna-modica Can you clarify?

If it's the first I can include it in a WebApp update for next week, need to make changes for @fviernau #4349.

IMO just changing the tab title to show "(0/6)" instead of "(0/10)" would not be enough, as that would be a strange disconnect to the lines displayed in the table. As a user, you'd also want to have visually reflected that there are fewer problematic packages than total violations. Thus my idea of grouping violations by package somehow.

Hi @tsteenbe,
@sschuberth is correct. The number should still reflect the amount of violations. But if there was a way to also display the number of packages affected, that would be great. Maybe adding tooltips to the number to avoid confusion?
If one could group them - even better.
