In TYPO3v8 only command controllers can be registered as scheduler tasks. Scheduling of Symfony commands has been added with TYPO3v9. See https://docs.typo3.org/c/typo3/cms-core/master/en-us/Changelog/9.0/Feature-79462-IntroduceSchedulerTaskToExecuteConsoleCommand.html
