The `require` expression at the top of the example was missing a `]`
On line 156, the exception "unable to resolve symbol: c" is caused by :in-chan c rather than :in-chan c1.

Edit: got to the bottom of the readme and found a second typo. In the
defsystemexample, the symbolcis used when you meantc1.
