Android Uploader Installation

This guide will cover how to set up 600SeriesAndroidUploader on your Android device to send CGM and pump data to your Nightscout website.

Please make sure that you have everything you need as outlined on the prerequisites page.

Preparing

  1. On your Android device, check the battery is well charged, ensure that it's connected to Wi-Fi, and that the time is set correctly
  2. Navigate to Settings > Security
  3. Turn on the Unknown Sources setting (this allows you to install APK files from outside of the Google Play Store)
  • Note - you can turn this off again after you have completed the APK installation
  1. Do not connect the CNL 2.4 USB stick yet

Install the APK

  1. Download the APK to your device from here
  2. Open the APK and accept the app's access rights

Configuring the app

  1. Open the app icon, read the pop-up Disclaimer notice carefully - and accept it if you want to continue
  2. Select the Preferences menu

Note - depending on your Android device, 'Preferences' may be accessed either via an on-screen button (e.g. three dots in the action bar at the top of the screen, or elsewhere) or your device may have a physical button – usually the same button as settings

  1. Select the BG units you want to use - mg/dl or mmol/l
  2. Set the REST API Upload option to on
  3. For release 0.2.x and above
    1. Set the Nightscout URL to https://your.nightscout.site/
    2. Set the API Secret to the same setting as used in your Nightscout website
  4. For release 0.1.x
    1. Set the API BASE URL to yourapisecret@https://your.nightscout.site/api/v1/
    2. Set 'Wifi hack' to off

Click the Back Arrow to return to the app's main screen

  1. Plug in your Contour Next Link 2.4 to your Android device using the USB OTG cable
  2. Select the Register USB Stick menu option
  • Follow the on-screen instructions
  1. Return to the main screen, and press the Get Now button
  • You should see a status message in the log area below the buttons, and the top section should update with status information from your pump
  • Your numbers should arrive on your Nightscout website within a few minutes.
