We could play it safe and remove the quickemu logo overlay.

It would be the safe option. I would hope they (and most) would respond positively to an approach for specific permission as not only is this good promotion/inclusion of their project(s) but your work is beautifully and respectfully done. As a long-time DBA the one that worries me most is a trademarked O ;-)

Started collecting some notes on existing and pending Logo Copyright/Trademark/Legal requirements.
Early days and there are probably better ways to proceed but this might help start the ball rolling.
