Made with the Global Terrorism Database. Credits: National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). (2017). Global Terrorism Database [Data file]. Retrieved from https://www.start.umd.edu/gtd.

Firstly, load data. Put a marker on the map and drag it. The position influences the volume and the orientation (left/right) of the sounds, as well as the amount of casualties. Hover the GTM Icon to show the area you can perceive the attacks in.

Click on the legend to choose which type of data you want to visualize.

You can activate and desactivate the sounds with the checkboxes.

The claims are just ISIL's ones.

With the sliders you can modify the speed and the sensitivity. You can also go backward or forward manually.

The gradients are recalculated when you zoom or move the map.

Click on the legend to switch between the casualties and the types of attack.

On particular dates, some headlines are displayed.
