Add functionality to copy hierarchies as tab indented text

There is a plugin that will display the sub-hierarchy for the selected class as tab indented text. However, the ability to copy branches of the hierarchy is requested every now and again, which means people aren't finding the (3rd party) plugin. This functionality should be part of the core system and it should be available for all hierarchies, not just the class hierarchy.
