Font not available?

I've just installed sleek over snap, als mentioned in the description. The dialog for choosing an existing or creating a new todo.txt looks like this: Error Pic

I've just removed the snap installation and tried the AppImage. Now it looks fine and the Text is correctly displayed.

I just saw this problem with another electron app. So i presume that it is not a problem with sleek. This can be closed.

Thanks for the hint anyway! It was actually the second bug report on that topic and it only seems to occur on Arch linux based distros.

I am working on Arch myself and I will try to reproduce it and hopefully fix it.

@jkopka Quick question. I was able to reproduce it. It occured on my Arch Linux machine when I started sleek with sudo. You didn't do that I guess?

Also please install the app again from the edge channel snap install --edge sleek. I updated (actually I am still working on it) the build process and was able to generate a snap that runs without any font problems with or without sudo. Maybe this edge release works on your Manjaro too.

I will push it to release some time soon so you get the update sooner or later anyway.

The font problem is still there in the snap version. The AppImage version is fine.
I got two messages, when i start sleek over the terminal:

(node:3874) electron: The default of contextIsolation is deprecated and will be changing from false to true in a future release of Electron. See electron/electron#23506 for more information
Gtk-Message: 20:56:26.574: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.

You can of course stick to the AppImage but the Snap will be more convenient. I will try to fix the warnings you posted in the next Snap release in any case.

@jkopka don't want to bother you but could you please check the latest Snap release (revision 92) using snap install sleek? On my Arch Linux it works but I am really curious about your Manjaro.

@jkopka : You seem to be a couple of versions behind. Please update using snap refresh. The new version should be 0.2.3

And just to make sure, please do the mentioned solution from Snapcraft forum:

sudo rm /var/cache/fontconfig/*
rm ~/.cache/fontconfig/*

I am just getting version 0.2.1, even with snap refresh.

Sorry, you're right, I forgot to increase the version number on Snap Store. So you're most likely already on the latest version and it's still a problem :( I will keep digging, as my heart beats for Arch Linux ;)

Hi @jkopka , I set up a fresh Manjaro and installed 0.4.1 (Revision 110) of the app and I don't have any encoding problems anymore. I hope it is solved for you too.
