How is RoyaltiesSet used by Rarible? Can I skip it in my contract for minting?

For what purposes an event RoyaltiesSet is used by Rarible? Could I skip it in my contract for minting? Thanks in forward.

yes, you can skip royalties if you want. Royalties allow all future sales to give a % back to the creator of an NFT

@EricArsenault I mean specifically about this event because I want to reduce the cost of tx just not to throw this event during minting purposes (if it is not critical). I found that getRaribleV2Royalties is used for royalty calculation, but did not found what impact of the RoyaltiesSet event.

@EricArsenault tested, getRaribleV2Royalties is enough for royalty, no need to emit that event during mint. I guess u are using it in some of your internal analytics. Gas save per one mint erc721 without this event - 7527 gas.

Currently, RoyaltiesSet event is not used.
But it's strange so much gas is needed to emit this event. Events should be cheap generally.

In case you have many items in the array this can happen though.
Also, it's consistent when event is emitted during any state change in the contract so external users (frontend/backend) can react to this state change.

In future, this event can be possibly used by UI
