Automatic Drops farming is not allowed on Twitch anymore

Starting today, Drops farming won't be allowed on Twitch, across all games.

While our current Community Guidelines say you can't cheat Twitch rewards, including Drops, there's been some confusion about how we enforce the policy.

Drops are a fun way to earn rewards while hanging out with your community and favorite streamers. They can also help streamers build their audiences.

We believe Drops farming undermines the purpose of Drops.

I dont know, the didnt explained it what they mean with "drop farming"
maybe its like this and they mean that only those streams are not allowed anymore

We've seen some confusion from our announcement. Drops are meant to be earned during live gameplay.

As outlined in our Help Center, viewers are eligible to earn Drops rewards during livestreams, by watching their favorite streamers play select games.

Viewers cannot earn Drops by watching VOD reruns, also known as Drops farming.

I doubt much will come of this. It's intended to counter drops farming on re-run content. Not by automated watching of Live content.

Drops farming is, characteristically, running a stream for drops with pre-recorded content. Many times this keeps streams up 24 hours a day for days at a time. It completely stifles growth for smaller creators taking advantage of the programs

Indeed, it seems like they (Twitch) are talking about the restriction for streamers.

As this tool watches LIVE content, it shouldn't be affected. And if the Streamer is purposefully re-running content, then that is an issue with them, not us. I highly doubt this tool will be affected.

Twitch has already posted an update to this.

Drops rewards are meant to be earned during live gameplay with your community - not through streaming unrelated content like static images, rebroadcasts of past VODs/footage, or other scenarios where you are not interacting with your community. Streamers who use VODs or static images, for example, to share Drops are misusing the reward system.

Viewers can earn Drops rewards while watching their favorite streamers play select games - they won't be penalized if the streamer is breaking this policy.
