google/osv.dev#2501 doesn't contain a Gemfile.lock for this platform-specific Gem update:

My interpretation of this comment is that Renovate is running on a different platform, so couldn't find the Gem for the platform it was running on...

Renovate runs on amd64, so I'm not sure there's any solution to this unless bundler has a built in flag to let users tell it to simulate a different platform. If you can create a minimal reproduction of this then we can try experimenting.

@rarkins I will endeavour to create a minimal reproduction when time permits.

In the meantime, on a Linux system, I made the same edit to the Gemfile in question that google/osv.dev#2501 is proposing, and then ran bundle lock and the change was successfully reflected in Gemfile.lock

It's possible that lockFileMaintenance is not compatible for bundler multi platform like this.

@andrewpollock Which command did you run to get this change? And which platform?

I am trying to replicate this but can't get the wdm update.

I am running the following command from windows platform

bundler lock --update --add-platform x86_64-linux

I also tried

 bundler update --all

But this failed with

Gem::Ext::BuildError: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

   current directory: C:/Ruby33-x64/lib/ruby/gems/3.3.0/gems/wdm-0.1.1/ext/wdm
