VisualIV 1.9 changelog:

  • Implemented percentage-closer soft shadows (PCSS)
  • Fixed z-fighting making depth buffer logarithmic, requires FusionFix ASI script (kudos to Parallellines)
  • Fixed the issue when improper shadow was drawn on water surface or some textures at particular camera angles (kudos to Parallellines)
  • Added soft particles
  • Improved transparency for 2D shadow texture under bikes/cars/helis
  • Removed artificial lights dimming when dynamic shadows are casted
  • Sharpened dynamic shadows
  • Slightly increased shadows draw distance
  • Dimmed shadow texture under vehicles for some artificial lights
  • Increased amount of lighting at very acute angles
  • Restored volumetric light shafts (kudos to Vaani)
  • Fixed disconnected directional shadows (kudos to Parallellines)
  • Fixed shadow offset on water surface
  • Other various shader fixes.
