Had an issue in trying to upgrade the data from Kotliarov et al, (2020), which provided objects created using Seurat v.2.3.4 because the
dataandscale.dataelements of their CITE and HTO assays wereNULLornumeric(0), respectively. I've added a little code to check if those conditions happen to be true and, if so, add empty matrices.
