However, nix 0.27 upgraded the MSRV to 1.65.0, which would drop support for the currently LTS version of the Yocto Linux project (kirkstone ships Rust 1.59.0) (See #76) so I will add this to the 5.0.0 milestone.

kirkstone is supported until April 2026, though. So I think we will drop support for it at some point before that, but I am not the person to say when.

For future reference, the next supported Yocto release is mickledore, which ships Rust 1.68.2 (langdale shipped 1.63.0 but it is already EOL). See Yocto releases

According to nix-rust/nix#1921 , nix 0.37 change RawFd to the trait AsFd. there is a lot of work to do. Draft it temporarily
