I tried to use this on Kubuntu 22.10 and it wouldn't load, so I used the preview button for the layout and this is the error I got.

Keycodes above 256 (e.g ) are not supported by x and are ignored
Error: No Symbols names "pes_win" in the include file "ir"
Exiting
Abandoning symbols file "(null)"

@Mahdi0024 Before installing again, make sure that you have uninstalled the previous version.

To uninstall:

  • Remove /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ir_win if you have it.
  • Restore /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ir and /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/evdev.xml to their original versions (e.g. copy them over from a fresh install).

You can then safely install the new version without anything going wrong.

Update: I actually don't recommend installing this yet, because things are changing in the xkb project, and if you install this now and then update xkb, things might break. I'll try to provide a temporary "fix" for this soon.

2023-03-20 EDIT: I updated the layout in #19, after it gets merged, you can then try to install this repo (just follow the automatic installation in the readme). However, once xkeyboard-config 2.39 gets released, it will have the Windows Persian layout, so you won't need this repo, unless you have to use an older version of xkb.
