Is there an alias for the system font? #693

Unfortunately there's no such alias right now, but this is a great suggestion. I'm inclined to say that we should stick to the generic CSS font names, where emojis then are covered with "emoji". In a way this already works to some extend (not "emoji", but "sans-serif"), but we need to document it and make sure it works with all backends.
I'll go ahead and convert this into an issue for tracking.

On a side note: Using emojis should just work. We try hard to find a font with emojis if you're using them even if the font-family is not set to an emoji font.
