What is the sponsorship all about? 📫

It's all about the WordPress Newsletter that I've called "WordPress Revue".

I'm a huge fan of WordPress. I love to use it, to create products with it and because of that I'm super informed about almost anything WordPress-related. For this reason I published a WordPress newsletter in 2015, which I have enjoyed writing ever since. (Unbelievable that it is now already 5 years.)

Why I'm looking for sponsorship?

I am a passionate writer. But due to the lack of time (see below) I can no longer run it for free.

I'm a (very proud) father now and I need to split up my time with my wife (who also needs to work). So I only have 50% of the time I had before the birth of our son. I don't have time to maintain every project I started in the past. For this reason I have to decide which projects to stop. I have already deleted many plugins (on wordpress.org as well as CodeCanyon) due to the lack of time.

Unfortunately the newsletter is the next thing I have to stop if it cannot be monetized. It's especially hard for me because I've enjoyed writing it ever since. At WordCamps I've often heard that it really helps people keep up to date with everything that's changing in the WordPress ecosystem.

The fact is: Writing such a newsletter takes an extremely long time, not only for writing, but also for reading and informing during the whole month. The funny thing is that's not really about the money... but read on!

Why should you give your money? 💵

👋 My name is Florian but I have been given many. The one that I liked the most was "The WordPress Guy". Of course you can also simply stay with "Flo". I am a graduate engineer for media technology and -informatics.

I rank very well with the German terms of "WordPress Developer" and therefore get many inquiries every week. I can work on projects day in, day out. So the sponsorship is not really about the money. It's about the joy I have when I write the newsletter and feeling that I have when I know that I can help many people with my work (not just one client).

As you can surely see, I am a passionate WordPress developer. In addition, I am the author of various books, articles, online publications and courses as well as a contributor to WordPress as a core, plugin, translation and documentation contributor. I am known from the (German) WordPress and the PHP magazine as well as from different blogs and for my own WordPress Newsletter, called "WordPress Revue".
