Become a sponsor to Josiah Carlson
My name is Dr. Josiah Carlson, PhD. I've been a user of Python since 1999, and a creator and contributor of open-source software since around 2003 or so. I am a former core Python library maintainer (asyncore, asynchat, smtpdlib, and related). Over the years, I have supported thousands of people over email with Python, wxPython, and Redis. At one time, I was the author and maintainer of the source code editor PyPE (over on Sourceforge).
I have written a book, Redis in Action, and have several libraries relating to Python and/or Redis. My Python crontab library is used by a large number of companies in their workflows for scheduling cron with and without timezones. My rpqueue library is used by several companies to move millions of tasks hourly. In April 2024, I improved CRC64 performance for Valkey by 50-200%+, depending on CPU.
By contributing, you are allowing me to spend more time writing and giving away open source software.
