Django User Authentication Project

This is a Django user authentication project that allows users to sign up, log in, and manage their accounts. It provides a basic user authentication system that you can use as a starting point for more complex web applications that require user management.

Getting Started

To run this project locally on your machine, follow the instructions below.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have the following installed on your system:

  • Python (3.6 or higher)
  • Django (3.0 or higher)

Installation

  1. Clone this repository to your local machine using the following command:

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/django-user-authentication.git
    
  2. Navigate to the project directory:

    cd django-user-authentication
    
  3. Create a virtual environment to isolate the project's dependencies:

    python -m venv venv
    
  4. Activate the virtual environment:

    • For Windows:

      venv\Scripts\activate
      
    • For macOS and Linux:

      source venv/bin/activate
      
  5. Install the required packages:

    pip install -r requirements.txt
    
  6. Run database migrations:

    python manage.py migrate
    
  7. Create a superuser account (to access the Django admin panel):

    python manage.py createsuperuser
    

Usage

To start the development server, run the following command:

python manage.py runserver

Visit http://localhost:8000/ in your web browser to access the application.

Admin Panel

To access the Django admin panel and manage users and other data, go to http://localhost:8000/admin/ and log in using the superuser credentials created during installation.

Creating Additional Views and Functionality

You can extend this project by adding more views and functionality as per your requirements. Refer to the official Django documentation for more information.
