Surrogate models accurately interpolate between NR simulations to make the evaluation fast.
You can find a brief introduction to surrogate modeling here.
The latest models can be obtained from gwsurrogate for the waveform models, and surfinBH for remnant models. These links also include the latest papers where you can get all the technical details.
