Major.Minor.Patch

Sysmo-Core and Sysmo-Operator uses three numbers "Major"."Minor"."Patch" (ie: 1.1.1).

Major version

The major version can denote:

  • an compatibility for the Sysmo-Core server data. Moving to another Sysmo-Core major version mean that your actual configuration can not be used as is with the new major version. Documentation will be provided when relevant to export and import data,
  • an incompatibility with the correspondant version of the Core and the Operator. An Operator-1.x.x will not communicate with a Core-2.x.x.

Minor version

The minor version denote an important Security/Bugfixes/Enhencement release. Operator and Core does not need to match.

Patch version

Patch numbers are used for smaller releases providing non vital bugfixes/enhencements.

Briefly

  • You must use a Sysmo-Core UI matching the version of the Sysmo-Core server (Operator 2.x.x with Core 2.x.x)
  • You must not upgrade to a Sysmo-Core major version (Core-2.x.x to Core-3.x.x).
