Pretty Timedelta is a simple python module for formatting timedelta objects as pretty text in any language you want.
Pretty Timedelta formats positive timedeltas in terms of the future (e.g, "in 5 minutes") and negative timedeltas in terms of the past (e.g., "5 minutes ago").
You can use the pretty_timedelta() function as so.
from datetime import timedelta
from pretty_timedelta import pretty_timedelta
five_minutes = timedelta(0, 0, 0, 0, 5)
print pretty_timedelta(five_minutes) # "in 5 minutes"
Or by executing the main.py program.
$ ./main.py 0 0 0 0 5
in 5 minutes
$ ./main.py 0 0 0 0 -5
5 minutes ago
- in 5 minutes
- 10 hours ago
- in 3 days
- 6 months ago
- in 8 years
- 7 centuries ago
- en 5 minutos
- hace 10 horas
- en 3 días
- hace 6 meses

Pretty Timedelta can support almost any langauge via the gettext library. Currently, it supports English and Spanish.
If you want to try it in Spanish, try setting your LANGUAGE environment variable.
$ export LANGUAGE=es
$ ./main.py 0 0 0 0 5
en 5 minutos
Pretty Timedelta comes with a bunch of tests, of course.
$ ./test.py
..................
