#Find out version number

Introduction

For bug reports it's important for the developers to know which version of K-9 Mail you're using. This is especially true if you attach debug logs, since these tell us in which line of the source code the error occurred. And because we're continually working on improving K-9 Mail these line numbers change frequently.

Follow the instructions below to find out the exact version number of the K-9 Mail you're running.

Details

There are at least two ways to find out the K-9 Mail version number. You can check the about box of the application or you can use the application management tool of Android.

About screen

  1. Start K-9 Mail
  2. Go to the Settings screen
  3. Select the About option
  4. The K-9 Mail version is shown under the Version heading

Android: App info

Android usually displays the version number of an app at the bottom of its App info screen. Please consult the documentation of your particular Android version for information on how to get to that screen.

Note: If you've built your own version of K-9 Mail from the repository please include the commit hash in your bug report.
