Game mechanics
The game will be a basic PvP death match happening at a low key village, where players can fire three different spells at each other. However, the scoring won’t be so basic. It will follow a similar scoring system to boxing. A game will consist of three two minute rounds. If a player can knock out the opponent in any round, they win the game. If both players survive the three rounds, the one with the higher health wins. After each round, both players get an upgrade in their health to a predefined percentage. This allows players that are losing in a round to use tactical approaches to survive the round to have a second chance in the next round. The game will also have two different pickups: Runes: These will include health pickups, speed and defensive pickups such as a shield bubble, for example. Traps: These will include pickups that could make a player vulnerable to the hits or magnify the damage. There will also be pickups that slow the player down for a certain amount of time. Players will be able to have different movement gestures such as jumping, sprinting and crouching. They will be able to use the buildings and other objects in the village for hiding and shielding.
The game type will be a split-screen PvP death match. Spell-casting System
The basic core mechanic of the spellcasting in this game revolves around picking up runes from the world. This will store the rune in your rune inventory for later use. In order to use one of these runes you will have to draw the rune symbol. This will equip the rune into your current spell. The player can hold the spell indefinitely. When the player wants to cast the spell, they will need to draw another rune, an offensive or defensive rune. Offensively will fire the spell at the target location as a regular projectile. Defensively will create a temporary shield around the player.
Runes: The runes will be pickups located around the map They will spawn in predefined locations They will respawn after a fixed amount of time
Spell Types: The spell types will follow a rock, scissors, paper system. Water > Fire > Earth > Water
Offensively or Defensively: The runes maybe be used offensively or defensively A straight vertical line would cast the spell offensively A straight horizontal line will cast the spell defensively Offensive spells will fire like a regular projectile Defensive spells will create a temporary shield around the player. Using the rock, paper, scissors system, would either reduce or increase damage taken
