@hiagofranco as maintainer of this template, would like to continue maintaining?
The next update will bump major, with breaking changes, and we will clean the templates. Let us know.

Hi @microhobby, thanks for the message, I will not maintain it anymore since I am not using it, so it does not make sense to me to maintain it. If someone wants to take over, please proceed. Thanks!

Hi @microhobby
I don't use it in production, but I use it to do some testing.
Can you explain a little bit what is the effort to be a mantainer for a template?
So that I can evaluate if I can take this role or not.

Hello @escherstair,
The effort of being a maintainer for the template is maintaining the template updated and ideally checking with some frequency that the template is working. Also, if we or someone reports an issue on the template the maintainer is responsible for fixing it.
For the cConsole in specific it should not be a big effort to maintain it, as the technologies related with the C language and this specific template (compiler, toolchain, Makefile, etc) don't require many updates. Also, this template is almost identical with the cppConsole template, so when we do updates on the cppConsole template we also do on this one. So, most of the time, being a maintainer on this template will basically be making sure that it has received the same updates as the cppConsole template, and also fix issues on the template when someone reports or you find one (with our help to do so if you think it's necessary).

andreriesco added a commit to andreriesco/vscode-torizon-templates that referenced this issue Nov 11, 2024
Deprecating it for Torizon OS 7, since the maintainer will no longer be
able to maintain it. torizon#273
Also, C Console template is not needed, as the C/C++ Console template
can also be used with C (information explaining how to use GCC instead
of G++ was added to to the `.doc/README.md` of the C/C++ Console
template).
