externals: how to get nightly builds updates?

I'm using the following in my .chezmoiexternals directory and it works just fine:

  type: "archive"
  url: "https://github.com/sxyazi/yazi/releases/download/nightly/yazi-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.zip"
  refreshPeriod: "168h"
  stripComponents: 1
  include: ["*/ya", "*/yazi"]

However, even when refreshing externals with

% chezmoi apply -R

chezmoi doesn't grab the latest archive and my binaries (~/.local/bin/ya and ~/.local/bin/yazi) are not updated.

I guess this is because there is no version detection mechanism unlike i.e.

  url: "https://github.com/sxyazi/yazi/releases/download/{{ (gitHubLatestRelease "sxyazi/yazi").TagName }}/yazi-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.zip"

so chezmoi always thinks I already have the latest version.

Is there a way to get updates in this scenario with nightly builds?

Thank you! This was actually the issue.

I thought that -R, --refresh-externals would force refreshing, overriding refreshPeriod. Turns out I was wrong:

	## `-R`, `--refresh-externals` [*value*]
	Control the refresh of the externals cache. *value* can be any of `always`,
	`auto`, or `never` and defaults to `always` if no *value* is specified. If no
	`--refresh-externals` flag is specified then chezmoi defaults to `auto`.
	`always` (or any truthy value as accepted by `parseBool`) causes chezmoi to
	re-download externals.
	`auto` means only re-download externals that have not been downloaded within
	their refresh periods.
	`never` (or any other falsey value accepted by `parseBool`) means only download
	if no cached external is available.

After running

% chezmoi apply --refresh-externals=always

the binaries were updated. I'll use a smaller interval for refreshPeriod.
