A while back we moved to node 18 (#370). VS Code is since 1.90 (May 2024) on node 20. Quite some of our dependencies also jumped to node 20.

While it might be a bit early to make the switch (as I think we would not be compatible anymore with version of VS Code older than 1.90). But we should start investigating it.

Optionally we can also run all the dev tools in node20, but still target node18 compatible js.
