This fixes #454 and includes installing prerequisites (like Node via NVM) in the step-by-step flow of the main installation instructions.
It also moves a lot of non-installation-related README content into separate files in the
doc/folder that it then links to.Also, to make the vg installation process more robust, it includes logic to search for the
vgbinary in the current directory and a couple subdirectories, even if it isn't on the PATH.
